Movistar mobile internet will reach 42Mbps in the coming years, among other improvements

Last fall Movistar and Vodafone announced the ability to surf up to 21Mbps in the largest cities with the intention of going gradually extending the new speeds to the rest of the population and whether these time improvements have reached only a "few", now Movistar relists other actions that will achieve the 42Mbps in mobility across the HSPA network +.
In particular, Movistar will conduct a three-year project together with Nokia Siemens Networks to improve mobile broadband services in several areas that we will detail below:
Besides being able to reach speeds of 42Mbps, will provide higher bandwidth to support the exponential increase in demanda.Modernizará network support for future use 3G in the 900 Mhz (refarming) and even more flexible for the future adoption of LTE 4G.Logrará greater energy efficiency that will reduce the environmental impact and great savings energy (equivalent to 6750 Spanish households generated per year). Also be responsible to monitor, manage and optimize the network by improving the user experience and allowing new services related to launch broadband in the future.
hope that these intentions not left alone in a simple announcement of increased speed in the long term if there will soon be translated into what many users expect from the latest enhancements that Vodafone has carried out to eliminate speed reduction in their rates or allow unlimited VoIP.

New rates from Vodafone to navigate computer with VoIP including

After the timid step he undertook MÁSmovil allowing the use of VoIP (voice calls over the Internet) with its default data rate, which is now Vodafone has taken to include VoIP in one of the new rates for computer data already available for contract customers.
As evidenced by reports of the operators, the use of voice grows back but not the income for this service is that but still has time, traditional voice services whose days are numbered with the arrival of voice over IP to our phones. Movistar has already shown interest in the VoIP when I recently purchased the VoIP service Jajah and although so far has not released anything about, Vodafone has also moved forward the form and allow its use.
The new rates Unlimited computer you are:
Internet Contigo Express: Allows unlimited traffic for 32 euros per month and speeds up to 21.6Mbps downlink and 7.2Mbps upload for 1GB/mes and other traffic Contigo 128Kbps.Internet Gold: For 49 euros a month allows unlimited traffic and always at speeds up to 21.6Mbps downlink and 7.2Mbps except in isolated cases of network congestion. Moreover this method allows the use of P2P software and voice over IP traffic to make calls over the Internet.
The new arrangements will add to the already available such as:
Navigate Mini: For 19 euros / month includes 500MB bonus and the additional traffic will be billed at 1.90 euros / day. In this case do not allow P2P and VoIP or speed is limited to a maximum of 7.2 Mbps for the rest of 3GB/mes Contigo 128Kbps.Internet Unlimited or ICI: For 39 euros / month and always allows unlimited traffic speeds to 21.6/7.2 Mbps except in isolated cases of network congestion. Moreover this method allows the use of P2P software but not VoIP.Internet Contigo Unlimited + Voice: For 49 Euros / month includes ICI plus free calls to landlines within (maximum 1000 minutes per month). Contigo Unlimited Internet + Flat Rate: For 54 euro / month includes ICI plus free calls to Vodafone 24 hours or any domestic destination between 18 and 8 hours from Monday to Sunday (maximum 1000 minutes per month in any case.) Siempre Contigo Internet: From 49 Euros / month includes ICI and ADSL. More information here.
Clarify that the maximum speeds depend on the connecting device, the area from which you connect and if many users at once. Moreover, these fares are only valid in national territory and that are roaming the following rates apply.
With these tariffs Vodafone ensures you never pay more than the agreed price irrespective of consumed traffic except where the Mini Surf maximum payment is limited to 76 euros.
We will see if the Vodafone network holds the increased traffic involving these improvements and hope that other operators will be gradually encouraging the steps in removing Vodafone speed limits and at least offer an option for those who want to use VoIP.
3GBox: Modem 3G and 1TB of storage through a single USB Movistar

Next to the FISIM of you already talked about last week, Movistar has presented today at the MWC another interesting development related to mobile internet and data storage in the cloud.
3GBox The project integrates in a single USB device, a modem HSPA + (with speeds up to 21 Mbps downstream and 5.76 Mbps upload if network allows) and allows data storage and Internet content directly on Similar to Dropbox offered but with the advantage that 3GBox includes 1 terabyte storage.
This storage functionality is similar to a single flash drive that stored data remain safe on the Internet rather than the device itself and to improve the experience, 3GBox has 2GB of internal memory which acts as a cache that stores the data pending the connection is suitable for uploading to the Internet.
(# ) The 3GBox be launched before the summer and will automatically update to get the latest versions or patches. As a limitation, access to content in the cloud is only possible from the device itself but may in the future, we can share content with other users or even allow access from anywhere.

Will support mobile networks unlimited data rates?

Approaching the MWC this year, and Movistar operators have already started testing with LTEo 4G in a real environment in allowing Internet connections faster and more efficient mobility although this technology will not be commercially available until 2012.
And until then, use of data over mobile networks will increase exponentially by what some analysts warn that today's 3G networks will not take much more growth and that will be needed large investments.
According to estimates the employer's telecommunications sector (GSMA), operators are allocated about half of capital spending on mobile infrastructure investments in wireless broadband, representing an increase of about 15 percent compared to 2009 but is it enough?
Vodafone said that after the first week of the elimination of the limits of their data rates in Spain, the traffic on their networks had increased by 20% and since then many fear that it will eventually lead to a worsening of service quality as might occur in U.S. cities or London where the alarm was raised and repeatedly falling to service because of the overwhelming demand for traffic.
are increasingly Internet-connected devices in mobility and if we add the existence of numerous tariffs with unlimited traffic, the result could be a concern although the main operators estimate that HSPA will be capable of needs without breakdowns.
The investment in new infrastructure and the diversion of traffic to wireless access points, femtocells marketing or establishing traffic prioritization policy will make the arrival of LTE is not so urgent but should accelerate the process of sharing the digital dividend to prevent future problems. Are they really prepared for our networks provide good service?

More investment from Vodafone and Orange to extend mobile broadband

The mobile operators are continuously investing in their networks to improve service but draws particular attention to two news published today by Vodafone and Orange millionaires committing to efforts to improve the mobile broadband.
On the one hand, Vodafone was awarded by public tender in February 2008 a draft of the Andalusian sought by the "universalization" of broadband access to the 770 Andalusian municipalities and today the chairman of Vodafone Spain has announced that investment in this area amounted to EUR 50 million for deploying mobile broadband network.
The commitment to invest that Vodafone has in the Andalusian region amounts to 150 million per year so the 50 million (of which 13.5 million came from European funds and 2.5 of the Board) has been allocated to areas where such initiatives are not as subject to profitability.
Orange for its part also interested in improving access to mobile broadband services (3G) and fixed (DSL) which has obtained a new loan of 200 million in addition to the 300 million it received last summer and thus extend and modernize their networks during 2010 throughout the territory.
Investments that promote competition in the telecommunications sector and would undoubtedly have implications for better service although users do not know if in the not too distant future will have a dual purpose as a conditioner for more frequencies to the refarming or warned as to deter investment if they apply additional fees for disposal advertising you TVE.
